Re: my mini-pci cards regularly fail

I haven't seen an issue like that with mine, either.

However, except for the mini-ITX ALIX board, the series wasn't designed to
adequately power some of the high-gain radios (Ubiquiti comes to mind).
There's a modification that can help a little, but it's no guarantee.  I
think newer boards already have it.

Or maybe it's really just a software bug.
