How to confirm the ratectl is changed!!

Dear Madwifi list, I am a newbie trying to learn how to run madwifi on my *DLink** WDA-1320 IEEE 802.11b/g 32-bit PCI Wireless G Desktop Adapte*r. I am using Ubuntu 9.04/madwifi 0.9.4 (from svn). It is successfully installed to my amusement at the first shot. So, the guidelines were very good provided by the list. Thank you. I have two issues, however: 1. Even though I added "ath_hal" to *DISABLED_MODULES* list in * /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common* to keep the "ath_hal" that came with the ubuntu installation from being used*, via its so called volatile module mechanism*, I want to know if there is a way to ensure that? I want to confirm that "ath_pci" that I see loaded (using lsmod) after I do "modprobe ath_pci" post "make install" from madwifi source is the one that I wanted (ala madwifi source generated ath_pci)? 2. Second and last question, when I do "modprobe ath_pci ratectl=amrr". I do not see any changes in the list of loaded modules. Is there anyway to ensure the rate control mechanism is actually changed? after I did "modprobe ath_pci ratectl-amrr", other than observing it via ethereal. Please help this novice.
