The message comes from sudo, not from anything inside madwifi-unload.
Perhaps madwifi-unload doesn't have executable permissions.  Or maybe
there are some other restrictions in the sudo policy.

You could try running shell explicitly:

sudo /bin/sh ./madwifi-unload
