Hi,

I have problems with runnig my HCF PCI modem on Debian 3.1 - Sarge,
kernel 2.6.10, using 1.03 hcfpcimodem drivers.

After the ATDT command, modem ticks three times and returns BUSY.
(output from gnome-ppp:
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.54.0
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Initializing modem.
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Sending: ATX3
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: ATX3
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: OK
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Sending: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: OK
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Sending: AT &F X3
GNOME PPP: STDERR: AT &F X3
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: OK
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Modem initialized.

  GNOME PPP: STDERR: ATM1L3DT971100811
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: BUSY
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> The line is busy. Trying again.
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Sending: ATM1L3DT971100811
GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Waiting for carrier.
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: ATM1L3DT971100811
  GNOME PPP: STDERR: BUSY
  ...
  ... )
No matter what program I use for the dialing (wvdial, gnome-ppp,
kppp...), the result is still same.

My box:
  AMD Athlon 650 MHz
  Via KX133 chipset (?)
  Well PCI-RWM-56 HCF based modem
(lspci identifies as: "0000:00:08.0 Communication controller:
Rockwell International HCF 56k PCI Speakerphone Modem (rev 08)")

The modem run well on Windows (98, XP) and used to run well on my old
Mandrake 9.2-rc2 with 2.4.x kernel. I was using 0.99 drivers there, but
I was unable to use them on the new kernel.

I found similar problems here on the list, and I tried suggested
solutions, but none of them worked.

I'm enclosing the hcfdiag.txt.

Thanks for any help,

Mira,

P.S. Sorry for any grammar/spelling/whatever mistakes...
