Hello ML, I hope I am not too off topic or FAQ with the post here. I am trying to get the soft modem in my ibook 2.2 (900 MHz, G3) working for quite a while now, and I am absolutely at a loss heere. I am wondering if someone on this list got his/her modem in this ibook running with one of the drivers provided by linuxant. scanmodem and friends didn't detect any modems on my ibook, though I believe I found a post some time ago, where a guy stated he had this ibook2 modem running successfuly with linuxant drivers. (I might be as well hallucinating here, maybe I am trying on this for too long now ...) However, the only driver I found, which shipps the binary part for PPC is hcfusb, which doesn't recognise the modem as a interesting one. (dmesg output reads: "not the one we are interested about) find /proc |grep modem even outputs: | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem/name | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem/device_type | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem/modem-id | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem/compatible | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem/slot-names | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem/default-country-code | /proc/device-tree/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/i2c@18000/i2c-modem/linux,phandle Does such a thing like a i2c modem exist? If so, does anybody have an idea wherre to look for linux 2.6 drivers then? Thanks very much for any enlightening replies about this. :-) Holger
