I have been trying to install an HCF modem driver for a Mepis 7 system on a
Compaq Presario (AMD 64), however, one of the Mepislovers forum members
very helpfully pointed out that the HCF modem driver will not work with a
64-bit processor, only 32-bit.

You can find (2 pages) the discussion of my progress, together with some of
the console output at http://mepislovers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=18337

Does this mean the end of the line for me and Mepis?

Thank you
