Modem driver for Mepis 7 / Compaq Presario (AMD64)

I have been trying to install an HCF modem driver for a Mepis 7 system 
on a Compaq Presario (AMD 64), however, it was pointed out to me that 
the HCF modem driver will not work with a 64-bit processor, only 32-bit.
