Hi,

according to the dump you have sent, it is quite possible that the
problem is that you have the 'snd-intel8x0m' module compiled into your
kernel and this is why you are unable to use the HSF modem driver as the
ALSA driver took control of the modem. We can see the following
information in your 'dmesg' :

---
ALSA sound/pci/ac97/ac97_codec.c:1903: MC'97 1 converters and GPIO not
ready (0xff00)
ALSA device list:
   #0: Intel 82801DB-ICH4 at 0xf4fff800, irq 7
   #1: Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem at 0xb400, irq 7
---

Please re-compile your kernel without the modem driver support with ALSA
and then re-compile the HSF driver with the 'hsfconfig --kernel' command
in a root shell.
