ATI + Conexant SoftModem

Hi,

I am looking for a driver for FSC amilo pro v7010 notebook.
scanModem tells:

Class 0703: 1002:434d   Modem: ATI Technologies Inc: Unknown device 434d

The unknow device is named "modem Conexant 24068-31AMC, 56Kbps, V.92" in 
the spec's.
The 1002:434d is a controler for an AC97 modem.  There is an Alsa driver 
for it but nothing about it in the linuxant pages.

I have 2 questions:
- Is there a driver for this AC97 controler?
- Would it be possible to use the Alsa API to write a program to use the 
modem (something like slmodemd)?
