Hi,

the device with PCI ID 1002:4378 is an ATI AC97 bus to which a modem is
connected and it is possible that this modem is manufactured by Conexant.

Support for this bus is not available with the latest version of the HSF
modem driver (7.18.00.05full) but it will likely be added in a future
release. A patch to add support for this bus named
'hsf-7.18.00.05-newdev.patch' was just added to the patch page at:

http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/downloads-patches.php

You could try this patch, it's quite possible that it will fix the problem.
