Hi,

does your sound is working if the HSF modem driver is not installed on
your machine? If you try to use the latest release of the HSF modem
driver (7.18.00.06full) with the previous Fedora Core kernel, does it work?

You could also make sure that your sound setup is correct, for example,
that the mixer volume is not muted or 0 and the applications are
configured to use the right sound mechanism (OSS, ALSA, sound daemons
such as arts and esd, etc...).

The messages:

---
Note: kernel module snd-via82xx-modem overridden by hsfmc97via
Note: kernel module snd-intel8x0m overridden by hsfmc97ich hsfmc97sis
Note: kernel module snd-atiixp-modem overridden by hsfmc97ati
---

are normal and they can be safely ignored. All the modules which were
disabled are modem modules, even if they are prefixed with 'snd-'.
