Hi,

we can see the following message in the output of the 'modprobe' command 
in the dump you have posted:

WARNING: Error inserting hsfsoar

You have attempted to install a pre-compiled package but pre-compiled 
packages are only available for x86 and not x86_64 yet. On x86_64, only 
generic packages can be used for the moment.

For the build problem of the HSF modem driver version 7.18.00.07 on SuSE 
10.0, please send the '/tmp/hsfconfig-buildlog.txt' file to 
[email protected] and we will take a look at this issue.
