   Hello there,
I upgraded fedora core 4 to fedora core 5, and installed
hsfmodem-7.43.00.01full-1
on a fedora core 5 system (Dell D610) and it seems to go fine. However,
subsequent boots failed with a crash in 'make udev' which I have fixed
by removing the folliwng lines from /etc/modprobe.conf:

install snd-via82xx-modem /bin/true
install snd-intel8x0m /bin/true
install snd-atiixp-modem /bin/true

Are these old lines, no longer needed? It would be good to remove them,
because the boot failure is painful and hard to debug...
        Bill
