suse 10 on a presario 2100

Hi,

I recently installed SuSe 10.0 on my Compaq Presario 2100, which has a
conexant aclink HSF modem. I downloaded the driver from linuxant.com and
even got connected, but kppp disconnects sometimes after a second, the
maximum I've ever been connected is 3.1 minutes. The error given is "pppd
daemon died unexpectedly EXIT STATUS 16" I tried altering the speed and
everything nothing seems to work. Can you please suggest something?
