Hi,

just to make sure that you have the complete 7.18.00.07 driver package 
on PC2, you can download it at:

http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/hsf/full/archive/hsfmodem-7.18.00.07full/hsfmodem-7.18.00.07full.tar.gz

If it doesn't solve the problem, I suspect a problem with the kernel on 
PC2. You should check your 'dmesg' and take a look for any suspicious 
messages, especially the ones which are IRQ related. You could also try 
with a newer kernel as well.
