its still there in my dmesg after uninstalling. What am I doing wrong here?

I am trying to uninstall this driver so I can get my sound back.

so I did it manually.

But I really need a fax that does not waste toner and I would be glad to buy this driver if I could get it to work.

I sent the dump as an attachment and it is waiting for approval since it is so large.

A clue, after running the automated driver install Firefox started
acting weird and I have no sound anymore. I found this file was owned
by root, chown it back to me and Firefox is now sane.

Has to do with running Firefox as root Im sure.

But I still have no sound...

I tried turning off the on-board com port since I don't use it for anything.
