trouble bringing up isl3890 pcmcia card ??

The system is Fedora Core 1, the kernel is 2.4.24 with the appropriate 
config. Everything goes ok until the firmware load; that produces:

eth0: uploading firmware...
prism54: request_firmware() failed for 'isl3890'
eth0: could not upload firmware ('isl3890')

The firmware is in a file: /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/isl3890.  'cardctl' 
shows the card loaded; and the card functions properly with the Linuxant 
driver.
