Greetings. First off, thanks for the code and the work involved creating it. It got me started. Unfortunately, started isn't finished, so here goes. Xterasys 2422g was in the supported list, and I got a chance to snag a couple of the suckers really cheaply. Now, the hard part. Is there a different version of this card, perchance, that isn't compatible? The card works out of the box in two other laptops, under WinBlows eXcruciatinglyPainful and WinSucks 98. The vendor and device code don't match the items in the compatibility list. After recompiling (2.4.24), patching(latest-CVS), and reading everything I could find, the card still shows "unresolved firmware" when I attempt to load it. Am I maybe just missing a config somewhere (wireless.opts) or something? insmod reports unresolved symbol release_firmware_R33934162 unresolved symbol request_firmware_R38ce5074 The isl3890 file is in the /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware directory. I got it from the .arm file on the Xterasys web site, and I also tried using the XP driver .arm file from the CD-ROM that came with the card. I'm using a Presario 1600 XL1 laptop. Two different Cisco Aironet cards work fine in it (my place of employment has an 11b net available for use - the cards both detect upon insertion and load the correct drivers), as do hard-wire ethernet cardbus cards (a D-Link 690TXD, for one). The output of lspci (no options) shows 02:00.0 Network controller: Texas Instruments: Unknown device 9066 lspci -v -v -v -n gives the following for the card: 02:00.0 Class 0280: 104c:9066 Subsystem: 13d1:ab80 Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster- SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66Mhz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 9 Region 0: Memory at 10800000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] Region 1: Memory at 10820000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=128K] Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2 Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1+ D2+ AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0+,D1+,D2+,D3hot+,D3cold-) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME- Ye Olde Compatibilty List shows that I should get a subsystem ID of 17cf:0020 and a vendor/device code of 1260:3890..... New card version? Anybody able to show me where to buy a ticket on the clue bus? -- Wes Will System Administrator FarReaches.Org S-Gabriel.Org Bright-Star-Studios.Com LINUX _is_ user friendly.
