how to get the datarate in D-Link AB650

hi, 
i am running D-Link AB650 in kernel 2.4.25 in RED-Hat 9.0. 
After setting the data-rate, using the iwconfig, the bit rate is still 
0kbps. 
so i am not sure whether the date rate is changed or not. 
is there some tool to get the real data rate? Thank you!!
