Switching from managed mode to ad-hoc mode > works for me, just to remember. I've tried ad-hoc mode right now with "slightly better" results. Look at the following: root@lunanova:~# ping venus PING venus (10.0.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=2332 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=1830 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=1620 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=863 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=8 ttl=64 time=1.48 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=9 ttl=64 time=1.60 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=10 ttl=64 time=1.53 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=11 ttl=64 time=1.48 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=12 ttl=64 time=2280 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=16 ttl=64 time=2637 ms 64 bytes from venus (10.0.0.1): icmp_seq=18 ttl=64 time=2844 ms How can it be that the response times vary between 1.5ms and 2500ms within seconds? This is going all day long and I have to restart the WG511 every few minutes. In managed mode the connection to the AP breaks down completely, in ad-hoc it seems to be able to keep it up, although with much worse response times. I have already tried different WLAN channels with no success. The OvisLink WL5400 PCI card on the other end doesn't care, I've never had to restart it so far. Any ideas what could be causing this unstable connection? Max
