-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've been using a PrismGT card in my laptop for a while (using the prism54 drivers) and my desktop has been running an SMC2802Wv2 with the ndiswrapper drivers in ad-hoc mode. I just bought a Allnet ALL0271 card from Germany to replace the SMC so I could use the Prism54 drivers on both machines, but I've hit a problem: I get a 54Mb connection between the two machines at a range of about a metre, but the signal quickly drops off - by the time I get into the next room (a range of about 4 metres through a single plasterboard wall) I'm getting a large number of dropped packets making the connection completely unusable. The Allnet card with prism54 drivers also seems to have a habit of hanging my desktop. Am I missing something (I've tried tweaking the tx-power setting but it's already set at 31 which appears to be the highest setting), or is this card broken? - -- - Steve Jabber: [email protected] Web: http://www.nexusuk.org/ Servatis a periculum, servatis a maleficum - Whisper, Evanescence -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Public key available at http://www.nexusuk.org/pubkey.txt iD8DBQFA9DcL5zUOsIV3bqERAuz3AJsFZmfKnu1X+iU/36VPcVl+VFxXhQCbB9Pq AKqDoS6D3zN7Q2B3UhgcWfg= =vAkR -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
