Hi,

I also posted this to http://prism54.org/forums/:

I have a Allnet all0271 card, trying to get it working under SuSE 8.2. I
made a Kernel 2.4.27 with firmware upload support. I put firmware.agent
and the firmware in its directories.

After modprobing prism54:

Aug 31 20:47:24 tim kernel: Loaded prism54 driver, version 1.2
Aug 31 20:47:24 tim kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 9 for device 00:0e.0
Aug 31 20:47:32 tim /etc/hotplug/net.agent[16681]: No HW description found ... exiting

When I then say "ifconfig eth2 up":

Aug 31 20:47:46 tim kernel: eth2: resetting device...
Aug 31 20:47:46 tim kernel: eth2: uploading firmware...
Aug 31 20:47:48 tim kernel: eth2: firmware upload complete

sometimes it is logged:

Aug 31 20:37:48 tim kernel: eth2: resetting device...
Aug 31 20:37:48 tim kernel: eth2: uploading firmware...
Aug 31 20:37:48 tim kernel: remove_proc_entry: 00:0e.0/loading busy, count=1
Aug 31 20:37:48 tim kernel: remove_proc_entry: firmware/00:0e.0 busy, count=1
Aug 31 20:37:48 tim kernel: eth2: firmware upload complete
Aug 31 20:37:48 tim kernel: de_put: deferred delete of loading
Aug 31 20:37:48 tim kernel: de_put: deferred delete of 00:0e.0

But ALWAYS the system freezes up after that and I have to reset the
computer.

What could be the problem?

Thanks

                                              _
