WG511: timeout waiting for mgmt response 1000

Hi

After several success messages I heard about his card I decided to buy one 
myself.
I downloaded the newest firmware from the prism54.org website. I'm using a 
homebreed kernel 2.6.8.1 under Debian 'sarge'.
The card is correctly detected when inserted and after an ifconfig eth1 up it 
loads the firmware, then everything seams to go wrong.

No LED flashing, lots of error messages.

I have a Win2K Partition on the same machine and the card works fine there. So 
it's not a hardware issue.
I did also try to find any newer .arm files on the Windows Install CD or on 
the W2K Installation, but there's just nothing there.

While 'googling' I've found many reports of other having exactly the same 
problem, but apparently no-one published a solution.

So anybody an idea how to solve this problem?
