In order to report just the pci id, do lspci -n and search for a line that says xx:xx.x Class 0200: yyyy:yyyy (rev zz) (class 0200 are the ethernet controllers) The PCI ID is the yyyy:yyyy above. For example, my 3com card prints 00:0d.0 Class 0200: 10b7:9004 (rev 04) which means that its PCI ID is 10b7:9004.
