realtek 8139 driver 8139too.c in linux just for little endian?

Hi
      Now I am try to run big endian linux on ixp1200(with arm core).
But I find the 8139 network card can not work well.
      When I look into it ,I find this driver in linux can just
support little endian. Am I right?
      If I am right, should anybody provide me with the new driver
suppporting big endian?
      I have tried to modify 8139too.c,but not succeed.:(
