Hi,
	thank you all for the comments/suggestions. Yesterday, I
instaled the driver from the address bellow and it is working fine. I
had some problems with the RPMs, but the sources, after compiled locally
are working under RH9.0. Probably it has some bug for the audio device,
but it is another story.

Given that the nForce2 chipset seems quite similar to the AMD-8111
chipset [1], maybe the amd8111e driver can be customized to handle the
nForce2 too.  (I wasn't able to get it working trivially with
"echo 10de 0066 > /sys/devices/pci/amd8111e/new_id", though).

Actually, the nForce2 MCP-T southbridge has two NICs, one is
nVidia-specific, and the other is 3COM-based.  I have a Biostar M7NCG
motherboard, which has perversely chosen to disable the 3Com NIC, and
use only the nVidia-specific NIC.

[1] The IDE driver for nForce is shared with AMD-8111.  The I2C
    driver for nForce2 is similar to the AMD-8111 [2].  The intel8x0
    audio driver supports both AMD-8111 and nForce2.
