Something similar happened to me with a pcmcia network card in a laptop: problems with interrupts.

I enabled "ISA" in my kernel, compiled it, and worked well.

Althoung, perhaps this does not solve your problem.

hi guys!

i spent another sleepless night just to get that pcmcia card for my laptop workig.
here is how far i got:
- Compiling OK
- Loading pci-scan.o
- Loading rtl8139 FAILS

with a dmesg i get the following lines:
rtl8139.c:v1.22 11/17/2002 Donald Becker, [email protected].
 http://www.scyld.com/network/rtl8139.html
PCI device 'RealTek RTL8139C Fast Ethernet' was not assigned an IRQ.
It will not be activated.

So the problem is that i cannot change the IRQ assignment in the BIOS because the laptop is a little bit older. :)
Any workarrounds?
I would be be very happy if anyone could help me.

thanks,

Christian
