debian network hangs/freezes

Hi Im not sure if this is a realtek problem or a keepalived problem so I have
posted to both lists.


Im having this problem with the network hanging/freezing/flapping?(nothing in
the logs about up/down interface) im not sure if its keepalived or the network .
basically what happens is the system will run fine for a while then machines
that use the firewall as a gatewaystop pinging and services stop working
(according to ipvsadm the service went down some machines go up and down these
machines actually are up adn the services are up).   it seems like only machines
that route through the firewall are affected since I can still be logged onto
the firewall when this problem is happeneing. All ips that are int he
keepalived.conf are still bound to the server. and all routes on the server are
still correct Useually restarting keepalived makes everything work again.Here is
what I am running on the system:it is a celeron 1Ghz system running on a MSI
6368motherboard with a via chipset.the onboard nic is a rtl8100L (eth0-inside)
and the pci is a rtl8139c (eth1- outside world)I am useing the 8139too module
for these cards.  I am running a compiled kernel 2.4.25 on debian 3.0 stablewith
unstable packages for keepalived and ipvsadm.  apic and acpi is turned
off.ipvsadm is version ipvsadm v1.21 2002/11/12 (compiled with popt and IPVS
v1.0.9)and keepalived is Keepalived v1.1.5 (25/01, 2004).   the traffic I am
doing hourly on a 95th Percentile Metered Usage (updated hourly) is approx
12033.37 kb/secPlease help with any suggestionsif anyone requires any more
information please let me know
