Here are a couple of screenshots of this camera's output. The first is the  
sensor uncovered, and the second is the sensor covered so that no light  
enters it.

It looks like it's responding (an area has become much darker), but the  
image is clearly corrupt.

Is this a common problem with unsupported cameras?

As a further test, I modified the "camera type" that gspca is using to see  
if any of the other types produced a decent image, but they were all poor.
(Tried JPEG right through to JPGV).
