Jmarc,
your webcam stream but somethings goes wrong with the sensor data.
start
spcaview -d /dev/video0 -f jpg -s 640x480
when you have the focus on the spcaview windows press the "s" key and send me
the resulting picture found in the current directory,do the same with  :
spcaview -d /dev/video0 -f jpg -s 320x240
