gspcav2-2.0.4 fails with 046d:0928 Logitech, Inc. Quickcam Express

It worked with gspcav2-2.0.3 (even skype) but with gspcav2-2.0.4 mplayer, gstreamer, etc appear to be unable to find a compatible picture format.

v4l-info reports only the BA81 format available.

luvcview returns a green screen.

gspca_hlp is running.

dmesg shows 
gspca: main v2.0.4 registered
gspca: probing 046d:0928
gspca: probe ok
usbcore: registered new interface driver spca561
spca561: v2.0.4 registered
mplayer[5950]: segfault at 00000048 eip b7d534c2 esp bfb62b04 error 4
