linuxtv.org and gspca and Ubuntu 8.04.1

Hello Hans and Jean-Francois

I got the latest source from linuxtv.org with "hg clone 
http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb" and made "make" and "sudo make install" 
in the directory where the source were downloded.
reboot
plug the cam (several I own) and got this:

Do I have to get a new kernel?
Ubuntu 8.04.1 runs 2.6.24-19-generic at the moment!

@Hans, when I have to get a new kernel "It's not user friendly"
