The Scyld drivers work with kernels from 2.0 through 2.4.*.

In many cases the drivers work with the 1.2.* kernels as well, although
the kernel compatibility defines may require tweaking.

The first error message from the Makefile should point to your problem

mkdir /tmp/netdrivers/
cd /tmp/netdrivers/
ncftpget ftp://ftp.scyld.com/pub/network/netdrivers.tgz
tar xfvz netdrivers.tgz
make
make install
