I believe that the only operational difference is the default setting of
the max_interrupt_work module parameter.

You can modify this by putting the following in /etc/modules.conf

options tulip max_interrupt_work=100

This doesn't _fix_ any problem, it just changes the severity at which
the problem is reported.
