Hi,

thanks for the reply I've intertwined my answers.  Your main thrust is
for more messages, I'm giving you all the messages I can find.  Syslog,
tulip-diag, ifconfig, lspci etc etc  If you could be more specific as
to where to look or what messages you are expecting then I can be more
informed as to what I'm looking for.  I'm not knowingly holding back
any info.

Oops, the old one shipped with Debian :-(  I'll re-run with the new
one, which exhibts the same behaviour but might give more meaningful
messages.

Below is the only message in syslog, should I look elsewhere for more
messages?

Other messages, what other messages?  I'm giving all the info that I'm
aware of.  Where should I look for these other messages?
