using VLAN (probably 802.1p) at My school

Hi,
I work in a school as teacher's help in labs. The school's tecnician
has implemented a VLAN with a switch 3COM Superstack2.

I can't access this device cause I don't have phisical privileges :-)
The switch is linked to some HUBs, each one handle a laboratory as a
VLAN. I don't know the IDs of the VLAN.

I've implemented a GNU/Linux Terminal Server lab on one of thoose
HUBS. I can ping the PCs on the HUB but not the School's GATEWAY
(192.168.57.252) I need to go on the internet).

I've sniffed with TCP dump some packages directed to a Windows station
on "my" HUB and I've noticed a 802.q infomation, and an ID: 1 I've got
a picture of Etherreal if needed.

So I've tried on a Debian Testing with 802.1q module loaded, an IP
static (checked its not used) assigned by me, and using vconfig add
eth0 1

I still can't ping the gateway.

The tecnical tells me he has used 802.1p to make the VLANs work on
Windows... now I don't know what to check and I have no clue...
