I was booting from CD using boot: prompt as 'vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb2' I guess that loads the minimal kernel only. I did not create boot disk while installing RH 9. Now I ran the upgrade option and in the end just created a bootable floppy. When I boot from floppy as 'vmlinuz root=/dev/hdb2', everything is fine. I can connect to internet, which is what I was looking for. It was pain switching between Windows and Linux on my dual boot machine just to browse the internet. Thanks again. _________________________________________________________________ Get dial-up Internet access now with our best offer: 6 months @$9.95/month! http://join.msn.com/?page=dept/dialup _______________________________________________ vortex mailing list [email protected] http://www.scyld.com/mailman/listinfo/vortex
