Log Martians

Hi!

This question isn't exactly about the Vortex driver, but closely related...

I get my logs filled with kernel messages about martian packets on the 
internet-connected ethernet interface. My Iptables rules should be 
blocking this kind of traffic completely, and I'm quite sure it's not a 
configuration issue. Does Kernel log martian packets *even though* they 
are blocked by iptables? Or could this traffic be caused by some 
freaked-out program, which I haven't been able to find, or perhaps 
failing ethernet card?

Here's one entry from the log:
Apr 27 10:57:20 xxxx kernel: martian source 255.255.255.255 from 
192.168.0.1, on dev eth1
