Most 905B cards with WOL require the driver to configure the card
correctly and set D3 state before it will wake the machine up.  That
means you cannot do WOL from power-off, you must boot the OS first.

Most 905C cards can automatically configure the chip when stand-by power
is first applied.

My 3c59x.c driver added WOL configuration back in '99, but the verion
you are using may not have the support.
