Hi there, Wonder if you could help me. I have installed Xp and RH 8 on a Dell i8200 Laptop. I am experiencing problems in Linux with the network driver. IP packets are transmitted 100% but not all are received. I think it has to do with the Full/Half Duplex modes. It seems that if "autonegotiate" mode is set, the driver does not handle receiving packets, in my case as "half duplex". I have set the full_duplex=0 parameter/option in modules.conf, but it has no effect. Here is more information : Driver : 3Com3c590/3c595/3c90x/3cx980 mii-tool results eth0: no autonegotiation, 10baseT-HD, link ok product info: vendor 00:10:5a, model 0 rev 0 basic mode: autonegotiation enabled basic status: autonegotiation complete, link ok capabilities: 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx-HD 10baseT-FD 10baseT-HD advertising: 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx-HD 10baseT-FD 10baseT-HD flow-control link partner: 10baseT-HD ping results eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:08:74:E7:31:F8 inet addr:80.218.104.133 Bcast:255.255.255.255 Mask:255.255.252.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:24599 errors:34 dropped:0 overruns:1 frame:60 TX packets:149 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:100 RX bytes:1531994 (1.4 Mb) TX bytes:10870 (10.6 Kb) Interrupt:11 Base address:0xec80 Thanks for the help :) _______________________________________________ vortex mailing list [email protected] http://www.scyld.com/mailman/listinfo/vortex
