RedHat 3C59X and 3C509 issue and collisions

Hi, We are having issues with a build process on a site which I am unsure how to resolve. The issue seems to be present with our 3X59x and 3C509 cards whereby during a network based kickstart install, the install when running, causes the client network port to cause thousands of collisions, effectively halting in the installation. The configuration is older Digital PC's with either 3C59X or 3C509 cards. We are using the RedHat 9.0 supplied driver disk We are allocated the IP through a local DHCP server We have tried the build through a Cisco switch and in a 3COM superstack 10/100 hub We have attempted to provide options to the kernel re duplex settings (option=4 full_duplex=1 etc.) however this stops network connectivity completely. Being a Kickstart install we are somewhat limited in the diagnostic info until the stage2.img is loaded, however there are no obvious errors on the virtual ttys.
