Hello! After studying this list for a couple of hours, I nearly tried everything (with few successfully moments) to get my 905B Cyclone to work with 100MBit. This is my setup: (all machines running debian woody or unstable with driver 3c59x from kernel 2.4.20) One machine, p133, 3Com 905B Cyclone 100baseTx adapter. Second machine, amd 700 with 3c905B Cyclone 10/100/BNC adapter. Third machine, laptop with realtek 8139too. They are all connected to a 10/100MBit switch manufactured by TRENDNet, model TE-100-S16R. This is my poroblem: between my laptop and my amd 700 I can scp files with 4-5MB/sec (as one might expect)i in both directions. But if I want to scp a file from my amd 700 to my p133, I only see about 1 MB/sec in both directions, as one would expect for a 10 MBit network connection. From the laptop to the p133, I also see only about 1MB/sec in both directions. This brings me up to the idea that there is something wrong with my setup on the p133. But the tools mentiones earlier on this list seem to indicate that everything shoul be ok. I don't know any further, so if someone who knows to read the registers may tell me what I've done wrong? Or is it a hardware problem? On my p133, mii-tool -v reports this: eth0: 100 Mbit, full duplex, link ok product info: vendor 00:00:00, model 0 rev 0 basic mode: 100 Mbit, full duplex basic status: link ok capabilities: 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx-HD 10baseT-FD 10baseT-HD advertising: 100baseTx-FD 10baseT-FD link partner: 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx-HD 10baseT-FD 10baseT-HD flow-control This is the output from vortex-diag -a: vortex-diag.c:v2.05 5/15/2001 Donald Becker ([email protected]) http://www.scyld.com/diag/index.html Index #1: Found a 3c905B Cyclone 100baseTx adapter at 0xfc80. I loaded the driver as module with options=0x0208 and hw_checksums=1 on my p133, and on amd700 with options=0x0608 and hw_checksums=1. Again, If anyone has a hint for me, I would be so pleased! Thanks in advance, and I hope I didn't ask a question that was asked before. Thank You!
