Hello.

First of all, thank You for the fast reply. I didn't think about the
encryption taking cpu time. I tried to benchmark the net by using the
debian package "netperf". These are the results:

amd700:

? netperf
TCP STREAM TEST to localhost
Recv Send Send
Socket Socket Message Elapsed
Size Size Size Time Throughput
bytes bytes bytes secs. 10^6bits/sec

 87380 16384 16384 10.00 1243.25

p133:

? netperf
TCP STREAM TEST to localhost
Recv Send Send
Socket Socket Message Elapsed
Size Size Size Time Throughput
bytes bytes bytes secs. 10^6bits/sec

 87380 16384 16384 9.99 121.33

Do you think that this difference is caused by the cpu speed? If You
think so, I will stop trying to tune my net speed. And I'll have a look
for the thread about old and slow cpus and 100MBit.
It feels good to know that everything is set up correctly, as You
mentioned in the last mail. Thank You for the info and have a nice
weekend!

Greetings,

Ralph
