It's not possible. I suspect that again the transceiver registers are not 
readable because of the EEPROM settings which are different from 
"autonegotiation/NWAY". Could you please use vortex-diag (from the Scyld 
ftp site) or the DOS-based config tool from 3Com to change the media 
settings to autonegotiation/NWAY ?

Hmm, this is strange. The driver detects the MII transceiver, but the 
mii-* tools are not able to read the registers ?
If you have the "ethtool" program installed, could you try to see if it 
can read status from the interface, like "ethtool eth0" ?
