I suspect that again the transceiver registers are not readable because of the EEPROM settings which are different from "autonegotiation/NWAY". Could you please use vortex-diag (from the Scyld ftp site) or the DOS-based config tool from 3Com to change the media settings to autonegotiation/NWAY ? > Oct 9 10:12:32 test kernel: MII transceiver found at address 24, status 782d. Hmm, this is strange. The driver detects the MII transceiver, but the mii-* tools are not able to read the registers ? If you have the "ethtool" program installed, could you try to see if it can read status from the interface, like "ethtool eth0" ? -- Bogdan Costescu IWR - Interdisziplinaeres Zentrum fuer Wissenschaftliches Rechnen Universitaet Heidelberg, INF 368, D-69120 Heidelberg, GERMANY Telephone: +49 6221 54 8869, Telefax: +49 6221 54 8868 E-mail: [email protected] _______________________________________________ vortex mailing list [email protected] http://www.scyld.com/mailman/listinfo/vortex
