I have the drivers working perfectly with a 2.4.24 kernel, and I decided to try 2.6.2 with my laptop. Here is what I did: Download the tools and the drivers via CVS. I compiled the drivers and everything seemed to go well. After modprobing, here is what I get: hermes: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted. hermes: no version magic, tainting kernel. orinoco: no version magic, tainting kernel. orinoco.c 0.14alpha2HEAD (David Gibson <[email protected]>, Pavel Roskin <[email protected]>, et al) orinoco_usb: no version magic, tainting kernel. /root/orinoco-usb-0.2.2/driver/orinoco_usb.c: No firmware to download unregister_netdevice: device wlan%d/ee9b3000 never was registered Orinoco USB: probe of 2-3:1.0 failed with error -14 drivers/usb/core/usb.c: registered new driver Orinoco USB orinoco_usb.c v0.2.2 (Manuel Estrada Sainz <[email protected]>) And no wlan0 appears. During the make process, it looked like the firmware download was fine... Any ideas? -- Matthew Daubenspeck http://www.oddprocess.org 15:21:07 up 40 days, 6:36, 1 user, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.00
