Gigabit packet forwarding performance

We are developing a router call product and are evaluating the use of a Intel 2.2 Ghz dual Xeon processor platform with a 64 bit 133 Mhz memory bus. 

  Can anyone tell me if this platform along with a Gigabit NIC card can support packet forwarding of 256 byte packets at 1 Gbps?
