And yet another piece of info:

I retried the whole story with two loop-devices, mkraid worked, then I set one
faulty, worked.
But on raidhotadd the box freezed. To me it looks like everytime the bitmap
comes into action the box freezes.
Peter, are you sure the reworked 2.4.30 patch really looks ok?
I can test patches, this is no production box ...
