Did you access the RAID device after removing the ENBD-server? As long
as you don't try to read data from the RAID device (or write data to it)
it will not access the ENBD device, which will not request data from the
server. So, it will not notice something is wrong. At least that's the
way I understand it :-)

Unless you want special features, such as the fast resync, the standard
modules should work fine.
