ftp site outage

Electrical work in the department has caused outages that will
make the enbd primary ftp site unreachable likely till monday.

I suspect power is
out, as well as routers and dns servers (the admin told me he
would take those down as a precaution over the w/e as the
electrical cowboys have a tendency to "test" their work by
flicking the main power switches up and down repeatedly). I'll go
in on sunday and see if I can restablish some connectivity.

Meanwhile, I have noticed I accidently flushed to the site in
2.4.33pre an experiment that made for instability (I tried
launching the raid notifications in a separate kernel thread,
but I really should not have used CLONE_KERNEL as a flag ..).
I've retracted that, and the result is so rock solid that I
think I'll release it as 2.4.33 directly the ftp site comes
back up and move on to experimenting in 2.4.34pre instead.
