Hoping someone can help... I did an mdadm --grow to add another drive to the array. Everything appeared to be fine during the process no errors. After it was complete (23 hours later), I rebooted and was unable to find the root volume. It seems somehow the volumes were converted to lvm. The lvm tools can see them, just evms can not. In evmsn I can see the md objects, but none the LVM ones. I have listed some information regarding the situation below. Advice greatly appreciated! -Brendon Running evms_activate creates these errors on the console: device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table device-mapper: table: 254:11: linear: dm-linear: Device lookup failed device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table prelude2:/# lvdisplay --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/main/root-lvm VG Name main LV UUID LBnUh0-Hemw-xFCn-kO5y-jyeL-QrtS-RurqeQ LV Write Access read/write LV Status NOT available LV Size 4.00 GB Current LE 64 Segments 1 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors 0 --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/main/v1 VG Name main LV UUID TWe8wM-zTOh-Wwtz-riJ1-vwNK-8DOk-k7v2SN LV Write Access read/write LV Status NOT available LV Size 850.00 GB Current LE 13600 Segments 2 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors 0 --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/main/home VG Name main LV UUID q3zeD1-sa4U-ed1d-adMr-exFE-l2J8-fMQH3c LV Write Access read/write LV Status NOT available LV Size 30.00 GB Current LE 480 Segments 1 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors 0 --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/main/tmp VG Name main LV UUID f1I9zj-J8PX-oS3n-YJ5O-nLGr-aH4g-LX39lt LV Write Access read/write LV Status NOT available LV Size 2.00 GB Current LE 32 Segments 2 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors 0 --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/main/vmware VG Name main LV UUID t13dV0-t2P3-7lqL-OKiX-hRXT-z3iK-ZQezbY LV Write Access read/write LV Status NOT available LV Size 15.00 GB Current LE 240 Segments 1 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors 0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
